Food, Service and Ambience is what it needs to be in order for Mi Cocinita Chapina be authentic Guatemalan. The food is delicious! It has a unique traditional flavor that only a Guatemalan Chef (Cocinera) can replicate at approximately 2,000 miles away from home (Mi Linda Guatemala). The customer service from all attendants and management is familiar to that of those beautiful family owned Guatemalan welcoming establishment in Guatemala. The ambient is folkloric in optics and sound; beautifully dressed tables in a typical traditional style table clothes. And, the sound of Guatemala in the art form of reminiscing marimba music. Overall, Mi Cocinita Chapina is a genuinely amazing eatery. If you have been to Guatemala and enjoyed the culture, sights and food you would love to visit Mi Cocinita Chapina. My family and I confidently invite you to patronage this wonderful place away from home (Mi Linda Guatemala). Born in beautiful Guatemala and raised in Wonderful United States, Marco Renato Vides

Good food sometimes takes time but rest assured it is Well worth the wait. Me encanta todos su platillos y la bienvenida que nos dan con su avena. Desde el principio las mecerás son muy amables y atentas. Si hubiera más estacionamiento me verían más seguido. !

Stopped for a very late lunch, early dinner. As another review states, this is a very small restaurant in an area with very limited parking. They have a tv to watch soccer and they play marimba music on loop. The ambiance is very homey. Don't let that stop you from giving this place a try. This is homestyle cooking, like your Abuelita would make. As with most homestyle cooking your Abuelita, your tía and mom can make the same recipe and it will taste just a little different. We were immediately greeted when we entered and the service was warm and welcoming throughout our entire meal. We were served traditional tostadas as we waited for our orders. Guatemalan tostadas are deep fried corn tortillas with black beans and cheese, or with a simple red sauce and cheese. The red sauce is not spicy. This simple appetizer transported me back to elementary school where I would buy tostadas for snack time. We ordered an enchilada, longaniza plate and a chile relleno plate. The chile relleno was filled with ground beef and wrapped in egg. It was not spicy and was served with rice and beans. The chirmol was the perfect accompaniment. The enchilada was good. The curtido could have used a little more acidity, but it was overall a good dish. It had all the importante enchilada components, fried tortilla, lettuce, ground meat, curtido (pickled beet and veggie salad), hard boiled egg and cheese. The longanizas were just like I remembered filed with delicious seasonings, including mint. They paired well with the handmade tortillas and fresh guacamole. A solid entree that came with beans and rice. Bottom line: a solid Guatemalan eatery. It is a small place that can't handle big crowds. Guatemalan food is not super spicy but is very flavorful. If you approach this restaurant with an open mind you will not be disappointed.
